Collective Summary
A multi-disciplined creative, I spend a lot of time crafting and aiding in the production of narrative-focused video games. My work thus far has been with remote, indie micro-studios, where the teams are tightly-knit, the work hierarchies are flatter, and opinions are readily heard (with great ones incorporated). You may notice that much of my work is for visual novels. That's because they're great.
My Roles
I am primarily a character artist who inherently incorporates concept designing in the process of creating final, game-ready 2D assets for delivery. On occasion, I have concepted and created interior background art with alternative assets for interactive or changing elements.
This Life Escapes Me

This Life Escapes Me is a published, tragic, 10-minute visual novel about loss, originally created for the 2020 One of Any Asset (O2A2) Jam. With only seven days to create and submit to the game jam, a Ren'Py scripter and an environment artist under my direction brought this story to life. It has since been a highly-received gut punch of a dark fantasy story on Itch.io, with a recent update of all art assets and scene direction in October 2022.
The Greatest Escape(room)!

The Greatest Escape(room)! is a point-and-click puzzle visual novel in development, originally created for the DevTalk Spooktober 2022 Visual Novel Jam. My original role was voice actor for the main character, but as production became tight, I volunteered to also assist in creating background, icon, and prop art, recruited other artists to render other planned environments, and organized the aforementioned recruits in achieving a consistent art style across deliverables. I successfully fulfilled all of my roles.
Sails and Silk

Sails and Silk is a historical pirate romance story currently in development. I was hired as both a project consultant and character artist to explore adapting my client's story into a visual novel. I guided him through the overview of the overall production process, best platforms for his specific digital distribution needs, and realized the development of a final, game-ready 2D character sprite in period-accurate attire. In the end, I successfully brought his character to life while respecting his time-cost needs, and provided resources for short- and long-term plans for making the full interactive fiction as an independent developer.
Project: MaFAEa
Character Concept Artist

"Project: MaFAEa" was the working title for a since-cancelled crime fantasy visual novel. Entrenched in Irish folklore of faerie-kind, I imbued Irish and Celtic art, myth, and history into modernized designs of a supernatural mobster syndicate and interpretations of magical creatures. The above is only a fraction of a great deal of work put into a large and colorful cast as the sole character artist under the director's vision.
